HAND ARM VIBRATION AT WORK
HAND ARM & WHOLE BODY VIBRATION SURVEYS IN TONBRIDGE
Do your staff work with vibrating equipment or machinery?
Hand-arm vibration occurs when vibration is transmitted into employees' hands and arms when using hand-held machinery and equipment.
The effects of excessive exposure to Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) can result in various types of diseases commonly known as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome or Vibration White Finger. This can affect nerves, joints, muscles, blood vessels, or connective tissues of the hand and forearm.
Annual HAVS Assessments Are Recommended
By law, Employers must assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to HAV so that Employees are protected from risks to their health. Control measures should be put in place to reduce the vibration and information and training provided.
Detect Hand Arm Vibration Early On
Here at Vibration Monitoring Services, we can undertake hand-arm and whole body vibration surveys to determine personal exposure taking into account the condition of equipment and working processes, the results will allow us to assess the risk of harm to health.
If you think that you are at risk of HAV, then we can help to advise you of the equipment levels and measures that can be taken to reduce those risks.
We Can Help With Hand Arm Vibration Testing
We understand the importance of detecting hand-arm vibration syndrome early on. Our Engineers can detect HAV and will provide a full report with an easily identifiable traffic light system so you know exactly how long an item of equipment can be used for and any recommendations required.
We can also carry out personal exposure monitoring to give a daily vibration evaluation for an employee over a working day, with alarms triggered at the HSE medium and high-risk points scale, see HSE guidelines (Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005).
