News: Project Complete at Barratt Homes’ The Skylarks Development in Halifax

VMS Ltd has completed a comprehensive vibration monitoring project at the Hipperholme site in Halifax. The project was carried out to ensure the safety and integrity of neighbouring properties during the ongoing construction of Barratt Homes’ latest residential development, The Skylarks.

The Hipperholme site, renowned for its historical significance and scenic landscapes, is situated in a region believed to derive its name from "willow trees" or "Upper Holme". This area offers a charming blend of rural charm and urban amenities, making it an ideal location for new housing developments.

The Skylarks development is set on a former industrial site and will feature 172 new homes, providing excellent commuter links to nearby towns and cities. As part of the construction process, VMS Ltd meticulously monitored ground-borne vibration levels along the site boundary, with particular attention to the areas adjacent to neighbouring properties, especially along Willow Lane. These measurements were vital in safeguarding the back gardens and residential areas from potential vibrations caused by construction activities.

The project underscores VMS Ltd’s expertise in environmental monitoring, ensuring that development progresses responsibly while minimizing impact on surrounding communities. With the successful completion of this vibration monitoring initiative, Barratt Homes can proceed with confidence, knowing that the safety and comfort of local residents are prioritized throughout the project.
