THERMOGRAPHY
Thermographic surveys can be used to detect temperature changes that can indicate a problem, highlighting developing faults without the need to shut down vital machinery. Detecting faults such as overloaded lighting control circuits to overheated bearings and motors.
Vibration Monitoring can offer an electrical and mechanical thermographic survey followed by an unbiased report of the condition of all installations checked. Highlighting any immediate defects to the Maintenance Engineer so that vital repairs can be made to ensure optimum plant performance.
Thermographic surveys can be used for:
- Building Diagnostics - Building heat loss, insulation checks, water leak detection, underfloor heating leaks.
- Electrical Inspections - Switch Gear, panels, contactors, overloaded circuits, transformers.
- Mechanical Inspections - Motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans, compressors, generators, bearings, steam systems.
Example of a hot motor gearbox unit

Electric Motors - Each 10 degree rise above it's rated temperature
cuts a motors' life in half!!
Example of fan shaft support bearing running hot (lubrication problem)
