CASE STUDY
Case Study 1. These images show the Main Incomer Isolation Switch for a large office block in London. The Thermographic Survey image showed a maximum temperature of 58 degC on the casing. Three days after the survey the isolator melted causing the loss of power to the entire office block.

Case Study 2. These images are of a Main Fuse Board located in a Store Room at a London Department Store. The fuse bottom cable was showing an excessive temperature of 107 degC and the cable was starting to blacken. Checking the load on the cable it was found to be only 17 amps on a 100 amp fuse but the cable connection was extremely loose, causing an excessive temperature to be generated and a possible fire risk.

If left undetected these faults could have caused major problems therefore Thermographic Surveys are a valuable service in keeping Managers aware of any potential faults.
